I recently started painting. As a creative person I’ve dabbled in and experimented with several different media over the years. Along with performing arts, I’ve drawn and sketched avidly throughout most of my life and I’ve always wanted to try my hand at painting, a serious attempt far more than dabbling, but I never knew where to start and was always too busy with other pursuits to really explore this particular (read more at the MoodyView.)

St. Patricks Day Greeting

St. Patrick's Day is here again and spring is just around the corner.  It’s a good time to be Irish.  I’ll be performing at O’Connor’s Irish Pub in Navarre on March 17, from 4:00-6:30.  Come out and celebrate the Island.

I am also working with Concerned Veterans for America of Pensacola this season, helping to draw attention to several veterans issues such as the VA backlog, homelessness, and an alarmingly high suicide rate.  We will be hosting several events.  If you’d like to take part in some activities and some action contact me or CVA Pensacola and let us know.

I’m looking forward to hearing from you.

Until Next time,

Lojah New Years 2014 Update

Hello friends and family of Lojah!

I hope you’re having an outstanding New Year!  With the Yule-tide behind us we can now focus on our goals for the year ahead.

I’ll be heading into the studio this month to start production of my next ep; Tripping on Roots, as well as heading up another semester of Current Cultural Issues and giving my students a clear background on the Irish Republican Army, the American Indian Movement, Idle No More, and Indigenous struggles in general.

I thought you would be interested to know that January 17th of this year is the 221st anniversary of the death of the Creek Emperor Alexander MacGillivray.  He was buried in downtown Pensacola near what today is Garden Street, somewhere in the vicinity of the courthouse.  More information on this remarkable Creek leader can be found here.

Catch me Live!

My next performance will be on January 18, at O’Connor’s Irish Pub and Grill in Navarre, beginning at 7:30pm.  It’s their 1-year anniversary party, so come out for an Irish-heavy evening of Lojah’s Creolized Roots Music.  I will also be performing at O’Connor’s on St. Patrick’s Day this year as well.
